Key Purpose Indicators

By RISE Business Framework · Created by Gary Harper and Brandon McCurdy · Reviewed

A Key Purpose Indicator is a clear measurement that your business is accomplishing its purpose beyond making money. RISE derives it from your purpose statement. It is owned by the business owner, reviewed and adjusted quarterly, and reviewed in the Culture Meeting. Examples include giving one pair of shoes for every pair sold.

How RISE does it

  • Starts with the question: Why does this business exist?
  • Derived from the company purpose statement.
  • Reported against a target in Q1 through Q4.
  • Reviewed and adjusted quarterly in the Culture Meeting.

Key Purpose Indicators is one of four tools in Stoplight Reports, part of the Systems quadrant of the RISE Business Framework.
