Mission Affirmation

By RISE Business Framework · Created by Gary Harper and Brandon McCurdy · Reviewed

Mission affirmation is confirming that people's personal purpose can be fulfilled by helping achieve the company's purpose. RISE also calls it Belief Affirmation. You write the company and personal purpose statements, then six WE BELIEVE statements. One closing sentence ties those beliefs to your Key Purpose Indicator.

How RISE does it

  • Start with the question: can your personal purpose be fulfilled by helping achieve the company's purpose?
  • Write the company purpose statement and personal purpose statements.
  • Write six WE BELIEVE statements.
  • Close with the Key Purpose Indicator sentence.

Mission Affirmation is one of four tools in Culture, part of the Inspiration quadrant of the RISE Business Framework.

Ask whether each person's purpose can be fulfilled by helping achieve the company's purpose. Then write shared WE BELIEVE statements together.

What are belief statements in a business?

They are short statements of what the team holds to be true. RISE uses six WE BELIEVE lines that lead to the Key Purpose Indicator.
