The Inspiration Quadrant

By RISE Business Framework · Created by Gary Harper and Brandon McCurdy · Reviewed

Inspiration is the second quadrant of the RISE Business Framework. It is the why behind the business: leadership, core values, a purpose beyond making money, a designed culture, and dated goals from a 3-Year Projection down to a 90-Day Sprint. A business moves here once it is profitable and needs direction.

A business can have resources and still drift. Inspiration gives it direction: a reason to exist beyond money, values people can repeat, and goals the whole team is pulling toward.

RISE builds Inspiration through four topics: Leadership, Long-Term Vision, Culture and Short-Term Vision. Each turns something that usually stays vague into a document, a meeting or a score.

Frequently asked questions

What does the I in RISE stand for?

Inspiration: the values, purpose and goals that give a business direction. It is the second RISE quadrant, after Resources.

Why does purpose come after resources in RISE?

A business has to survive before it can lead with purpose. Once it pays its own way, RISE has you define why it exists beyond making money.

How does RISE connect long-term vision to daily work?

The 3-Year Projection sets direction, the 1-Year Target makes it concrete, and the 90-Day Sprint turns it into work for this quarter.
