Pipeline
By RISE Business Framework · Created by Gary Harper and Brandon McCurdy · Reviewed
A pipeline is the sequence of steps work moves through from start to finish. RISE speeds it up with an eight-stage wheel: Baselining, Identify, Organize, Standardize, Redesign, Automate, Apply Metrics and Cross Train. The tactics are streamlining processes, delegating tasks, improving team communication and using automated solutions.
How RISE does it
- Eight stages, clockwise from the top: Baselining to Cross Train.
- Tactics: streamline processes and procedures, delegate, improve communication, automate.
- An efficient workflow reduces bottlenecks and speeds up turnaround times.

Frequently asked questions
How do you speed up a business workflow?
Streamline processes and procedures, delegate tasks, improve communication among team members and automate where you can. RISE adds baselining first and cross training last.
Why should you baseline a process before changing it?
A baseline shows how the process performs today. Without it you cannot tell whether a change helped.
